The Diamond Taxi (Hackney Carriage, Private Hire and/or Dual Licence) Knowledge Test System is a tried-and-tested computer-based system which was first installed in July 2006, some 12 years ago, and that first system is still in use. Since then, some 50 systems have been installed nationwide, from Tyneside in the north, down to the South Coast, each one tailored to the requirements of the individual Council. As well as the usual way of purchasing the system initially, we will shortly be introducing a pay-as-you-go structure, whereby we provide the system free of charge, and you are charged based on the number of tests you carry out. We have numerous questions/answers that existing users are happy to release to new users, and these fall into several categories, including Highway Code, Signage, Numeracy, Comprehension, Safeguarding (incorporating CSE & Prevent), Equality, Customer Care, Conditions & Policy, Disability, Fitness of Driver, to name but a few. However, any local knowledge (eg Routes, Points of Interest) questions will have to be set up by yourselves. The system can be installed on stand-alone laptops, your network, under Citrix, or even stored on a remote server - the choice is yours.
